As part of its ongoing activities, the Israeli Society for Dance Research has held retrospective events on selected dance creators since 2016, including Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor (2016), Public Movement (2017), Yossi Berg and Oded Graf (2019), Yasmeen Godder (2022), Ruth Eshel (2023) and Galit Lis.
The retrospective events combine lectures offering a broad view of the creators’ work, discussions with artistic partners that reveal different perspectives on the creative processes, and live demonstrations, such as excerpts from existing and emerging works or rehearsals in an ‘open studio’ format.
The Israeli Society for Dance Research received a grant from the Lottery Council for Publicity and the Arts for the retrospectives held in 2023-2024.
